My new wife & I honeymooned on the beautiful island of St Martin, July 14--21, 2010.
Due to rainy weather, we had about half the time "on beach" as we'd have liked. However, we still had a fantastic trip.
My first comments will be on Cupecoy beach. This is on the south-west portion of the "Dutch" side of the island.
We came to Cupecoy for two reasons: scenic beauty, and its designation as a nude beach. I can't stress enough how stunningly beautiful this beach is! The cliffs above the beach make for some fantastic photography, even on an overcast day. The surf here is a bit strong, and there's a bit of coral rock just off the shoreline; so swimmers must be warry.
Secondly, it's Orient beach, located on the north-east corner of the island, on the "French" side. Only the southern-most section of the beach is au-natural. Topless (ladies) are found from one end to the other, but the gendarmes will ticket you if you're found nude outside of the boundary, which is between Club Orient Resort and Pedro's beach bar. Again, this is also a very scenic beach and makes for wonderful photography.
